SIR VICTOR PERO WNE'S FUNERAL

THE funeral of Sir Victor Perowne, British Minister to the Holy See, who died in Rome on January 8, took place in Rome last week in the presence of high officials of the Italian Government and Sir Victor Mallet, British Ambassador to Italy.
Members of the British colony in Rome followed the hearse.
The Pope sent a telegram of condolence to Lady Perowne, Sir ViotOr's widow assuring her that "in our prayers we shall not fail to invoke upon you and your family abiding divine comfort and Heavenly consolation in your bereavement."
