FOR the first time in history a Syro-Malabar Rite ordination ceremony has taken place in St. Peter's basilica. Archbishop Mar Joseph Parecattil of Ernakulam ordained Fr. Cyriac Mannachcrry of the archdiocese of Ernakulam and Frs. Jacob Kollaparampil and Jacob Vellian of the diocese of Kottayam. Both sees are in south India.
