MASS IN RUSSIAN RITE For the that time in history a Russian Bishop has celebrated Mass according to the Byzantine-Slavonic rite in St. Peter's Basilica. This privilege was granted by His Holiness to Mgr. Alexander Evereinoff, titular Bishop of Pionia, on the occasion of the 950th anniversary of the baptism of St. Vladimir and the conversion of the Russian people.
