A CAMPAIGN to save the Catholic Standard, the weekly newspaper of the Catholic Church in Guyana, South America, is being backed by the British MP David Alton.
The newspaper has been under constant pressure since 1978, when it criticised a Guyanan government referendum designed to delay General Elections.
