RUISLIP PARENTS URGE COUNTY ASSOCIATION

Catholic parents at Ritislip are to urge Catholics in other parishes to form school parents' associations, then join together in one organisation to be known as the Middlesex Catholic Parents' Association.
The idea was put forward by a speaker at a crowded meeting of the Ruislip Sacred Heart School Parents' Association, last week, when it was decided to try and arrange a ,preliminary meeting with representatives from other parishes.
It was painted out there are many Catholic parishes within the area administered by the Education Committee of the Middlesex County Council, and that a strong organisation of Catholic parents in the Middlesex area would be a useful factor in getting better facilities for Catholic schools.
UNITED WE STAND Formation of parents' associations would be an advantage equally in parishes which had no Catholic schools, or where a school was contemplated.
Where there are Catholic schools, the managers, in dealing with the Middlesex Education Committee, would have the support not only of their own parents' association, but of all Catholic parents in Middlesex.
Such an organisation of Catholic parents would be able to wield a strong influence on public opinion. and on the elected representatives on the County Council.
Mr. G. Curtis, chairman of the Sacred Heart Association, said " United we stand, divided we fall. For years our parish priest was struggling on his own for our school. Now he has us behind him, and if we can get this new association going he will have the additional backing of other parishes. All Middlesex parishes can help each other out in time of need.
