While on holiday at St. Leonards, Canon James Mahoney, Ph.D., of Deptford, was attacked by pneumonia and became gravely ill. Although improved, he is still unwell. Canon Mahoney is not seeking re-election to the London County Council, of which body he has been a member for the past six years.
The Rev. John Egan, who collapsed in the sanctuary recently, at St. Joseph's, Wembley, is reported to be making, slow progress. Fr. Egan suffered a similar collapse in church in April last year, and was then ordered to rest for some weeks before resuming duty.
