Three Lectures Next Week
The eminent French philosopher, Monsieur Jacques Maritain, will give three lectures in London next week: On Monday, October 28, at 8 p.m., at 3, King's Bench Walk, on L'Orgunisation du Savoie lvforal; on Tuesday, 29th, at 5.30 p.m., at the Warburg Institute, on Science ct Sagesse (chairman, Mr. T. S. Eliot); and on Wednesday, 30th (same time and place), on Le Signe.
Monsieur Jacques Maritain is professor at the Institut Catholique, Paris. He has been described by Mr. T. S. Eliot as " the most conspicuous figure and probably the most powerful force in contemporary French philosophy." Among his works are Distinguer pour unir, Primaute du Spirituel. and Reflections sur l'Intelligence. Among English translations of his books are An Introduction to Philosophy. The Things that are not Caesar's, Art and Scholasticism. and recently Freedom in the Modern World.
Monsieur Maritain is the author of the Christian manifesto which recently appeared in the French press and is reported elsewhere in this paper.
