De Gaulle Supported by Maritain

M. Jacques Maritain, M Yves Simon and Pere Jean de Mcnasce, 0.P., all prominent leaders in the French Catholic weekly Tentes Preset/a who arc now in the United States, are all enthusiastic supporters of the Free French movement of General de Gaulle, the CaniOtic HERALD is informed.
Maritain, who is now erofessor of Philosophy at Princeton University and is lecturing on scholasticism. recently wrote a series of essays justifying the French position in the war.
These essays were amongst the last publications made by Desclee de Brower, the Paris Catholic publishers, before the German occupation. By a curious turn of fate copies of this hook only reached England about six weeks after the fall of France. M. Yves Simon, also a philosopher and a Thomist. is at the Jesuit University of Notre Dante in Illinois.
