FR. HANNAN, ASSISTANT TO JESUIT GENERAL, DIES

I am very sorry to announce that the Very Rev. T. T. Hannon, S.I., Assistant to the General of the Jesuits, has died in the Vatican City. Fr. Hannon, who was 63 years old, was a native of Limerick, where he was educated at the Sacred 1-kart College; he entered the Society in 1900. He was later Professor of Philosophy at Milltown Park, Dublin, and Lecturer in Catholic Theology at University College.
From 1924 till 1930 he was Rector of Milltown Park, and from 1938 was Apostolic Visitor to the Irish Christian Brothers, which entailed his visiting all parts of the Englishspeaking world. He was appointed Assistant to the General at the recent election.
