Cardinal is better
CARDINAL HUME is making a good recovery in Westminster Hospital after the operation last Thursday to replace his left hip.
He has been inundated with cards and messages of good wishes. "I would like to thank all those who have remembered me in their prayers and Masses," he said.
Cardinal Hume celebrates his 60th birthday on Wednesday. It is hoped that he will be able to begin to resume some outside duties before Easter.
