CARDINAL GODFREY: NO CHANGE

THERE is no change in the condition of Cardinal Godfrey, who has been in hospital in London since Monday week. The Cardinal is receiving special treatment for an illness. Several enquiries as to his condition have been received in the CATHOLIC HERALD offices.
The, following statement was issued from Archbishop House, Westminster, during the week :
"Cardinal Godfrey, who is at present a patient at the Westminster Hospital, is deeply grateful for the many assurances of prayers and other kind messages which he has received. The Cardinal, who is in good spirits. is continuing with the treatment advised by his doctors. His condition remains unchanged."
BISHOP BECK BULLETIN from Bishop's House, Salford, on Wednesday. said that Bishop Beck, who is in Wrightington Orthopaedic Hospital, near Wigan. was "progressing very satisfactorily, in just the way his doctors expected him to do". The pain has left his hip, the bulletin stated, and now it is only a question of time until the Bishop makes a complete recovery.
POPE JOHN Pope John told a general audience of 1,000 pilgrims on Wednesday: "I can say that we are always ready to depart, but meanwhile we are still well".
