SCOTS BISHOP CONSECRATED

MGR. WILLIAM HART, one of four priest-brothers, was consecrated on Wednesday as Bishop of the 12th-century see of Dunkeld in St. Andrew's Cathedral, Dundee.
Mgr. Hart, 51 years old on September 9, succeeds Mgr. Scanlan, who was recently enthroned as Bishop of Motherwell.
Canon Henry Hart, of Greenock, Fr. Gerard Hart, of Balornock, and Fr. Andrew Hart, O.C.R., a Cistercian monk at Sancta Maria Abbey, Nunraw, were present at the consecration with the Bishop's two other brothers and three sisters.
Archbishop Campbell of Glasgow was the consecrator, with Bishop Black of Paisley and Bishop McGee of Galloway as co-oonsecrators. Archbishop Gray of St. Andrews and Edinburgh preached.
In the sanctuary too, were Bishop Grant of Argyll and the Isles, Bishop Douglas, and Bishop Scanlan of Motherwell.
Abbot Mulcahy of Nunraw. Abbot Eaves of Fort Augustus and Mgr. D. Cashman. representing the Apostolic Delegate.
Mgr. Hart is the seventh Bishop of Dunkeld since the restoration of the Hierarchy in 1878.
