Salford exhibition opens
AN EXHIBITION of documents and treasures connected with the history and life of Salford Cathedral has been on show this week at Cathedral House in Salford. The exhibition was planned to coincide with the publication of two booklets, a new guide to the cathedral and an illustrated volume of prayers to Our Lady which has been edited by Bishop Holland of Salford.
The exhibition includes drawings by the artist Harold Riley who has also provided the illustrations for the book of prayers. One of the more curious of the documents on display is a quotation of £1,675 for the demolition of the cathedral in 1972.
