MR STANLEY Cohen, MP for Leeds South East, and a Catholic, has become the fifth Labour MP to be rejected by his constituency party under the party's new re-selection procedure.
Doctor cleared
NO ACTION is to be taken against Dr Peter Huntingford, who refuses to give medical reasons for performing abortions, the Attorney General said this week.

THE FORMER Trinity United Reformed Church in Doncaster has been turned into a public house by Whitbread's brewery.
Chapter choice
CARDINAL HUME will be chief celebrant at the Chapter Mass in Northampton Cathedral at 11 am on Tuesday, March 2. He will then preside over the Chapter meeting to choose a "terna", three names of possible candidates to be the future Bishop of Northampton. The reason is that Northampton is in the Province of Westminster.
Exhibition
THE EXHIBITION of the Holy Land at Salford Cathedral will take place from March 7 to 11. It will include objects from the Holy Land, pictures, slides and documentary films. It will be opened at the 11 am Mass on Sunday, March 7. The exhibition will be open from 12-2, 3-5.30 and 6-9. Admission will be free.
