CO-OPERATION WITH YOUTH SOCIETIES Three Catholic Youth organisations, the Grail, the Y.C.W., and the Boy Scouts, cooperated on Youth Sunday in the distribution in and around London of 100,000 leaflet calling on all young people of all denominations to be generous with God, and to make recompense for forgetfulness by " giving instead of asking." The leaflets, which were attractively written and illustrated, and printed in bright colours, had for their title " Simple Simon," and explained the well-known rhyme popular to children of how Simon " wanted everything for nothing."
Many Grail members attended a special evening service at Southwark Cathedral at which the Archbishop-Bishop preached, but most membere proceeded to their own parish churches for the special Youth celebrations arranged by individual parish priests.
Y.C.W., London
Gerry Sherry, national treasurer and Northern Federation organiser of the Young Christian Workers, has now been called up to the Army. Gerry Sherry was noted for his work amongst the youth, especially in the Liverpool area. For the past three months he has been assisting at the National II.Q. in London.
