Cardinal Griffin, Archbishop of Westminster, representing the Catholics of England and Wales and supported by many members of the British Hierarchy, is to preside at a great rally of .protest against the arrest of Cardinal Mindszenty, to be held in the Albert Hall, London, on Monday,
February 7. Catholic peers, Catholic M.P.s and civic officials and the national Catholic societies, guilds and associations for the professions, the trade unions, youth, the family and the arts will be represented on a full platform. According to reports, Monday. February 7, is about the date that Cardinal Mindszenty is to be brought to trial. The date of the Albert Hall meeting was forced by the availability of the one public building in London capable of seating the number of Catholics who will undoubtedly be present, The meeting opens at 7.30—the doors of the Hall three-quarters of an hour before that, and to help those who will go direct from work or business the meeting will be limited in length to laS hours and be well over by 9.30.
Tickets for all seats will he one price. Is., and should be applied for at once. They may be obtained from all parish priests in the dioceses of Westminster, Southwark and Brentwood and from the secretaries of the following societies:

IN THE PROVINCES Bishop Petit, preaching in Wrexham last Sunday, urged that Catholics, through their organisations, should send protests to the appropriate quarters. He went on to suggest that through their non-Catholic organisations they should do the same " because I tell you now that upon the outcome of this depends your future liberty or future slavery. This is a test case."
Mgr. Masterson, Archbishop of Birmingham, has ordered a letter on the arrest to be read in every church in the diocese on Sunday next. He will take part in a Mass of intercession at Birmingham Cathedral on January 16.
In addition Mgr. Masterson has addressed a telegram of protest to the Prime Minister of Hungary and urges all Catholic societies to do the same. .
Yorkshire Catenians through their Provincial Council and Circle Councils have sent strong protests to the same quarter.
