Fr. O'Dowd, of Ilaydon Bridge, is to be assistant priest at St. Gregory's, Harlon, South Shields. The Rev. F. Daley, of South Shields, recently ordained at Ushaw College, is to continue his studies at Cambridge University at the end of the summer vacation.
The Rev, Win. Costello, St. Joseph's, Sunderland, is appointed to St. Charles', Prudhoe. The Rev. C. Duffy, St. Cuthbert's Grammar School, Newcastle, to be curate at St. Joseph's, Sunderland. The Rev. M. McBrien, St. Joseph's, Sunderland, goes as curate to St. Columba's, Wallsend. The Rev. P. Kerrick, St. Joseph's, West Hartlepool, to be curate at St. Joseph's, Sunderland.
Nottingham Appointments
Rev. Fr, James B. Rooney, of the Church of Our Lady of Beauchicf and St. Thomas of Canterbury, Woodseats, has retired on account of increasing age. Rev. Fr. Arthur Joseph Bird, of St. Philip Neri's, Mansfield, to be parish priest of Woodscats, vice Fr. Rooney. Rev. Fr. Francis MeNicholas, of St. Paul's, Nottingham, to St. Philip Neri's, Mansfield, as parish priest.
Marist Appointments
The Resv. J. Kelly, B.Sc., and James Salmon, BA., of St. Mary's College, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, have been transferred to the Marist College at Hull. The Revv. John Vincent Carroll, BA., and Charles Cassidy, B.Sc., both of Hull, have been appointed to fill the vacancies at Middlesbrough. The Rev. P. Rynn (College, Middlesbrough) is to take up duties at St. Ann's, London, and the Rev. Fr. Murphy, of St. Ann's, will go to Middlesbrough.

Fr. Bernard Delany, O.P. .has been elected Prior of St. Dominic 's Priory, Haverstock, N.W. Fr. Bernard was Prior of Oxford before he became Provincial of the English Province, and succeeded Fr. Bede Jarrett, who died at St. Dominic's in 1935.
Southwark Travelling Mission
The centre to be visited this weekend by the Southwark Travelling Mission is Hawkhurst, parish of Goudhurst, Kent. On Saturday (to-morrow) the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, Mass will be said at the
Church Institute at 9. On Sunday Mass will be said at the Church Institute at 8.30 and at the Enerslie House at 10.
