German envoy in London promoted

Dr. Schlange Schoenigen, representative in London of the Federal German Republic, has been given the personal rank of ambassador.
This follows the decision to raise the status of German envoys in the three Western capitals. At the same time the three Western High .Comrnissioners have been made personal ambassadors while retaining their former titles.
A close friend of Dr. Adenauer. whose faith in the unification of Western Europe with an equal place for Germany he shares, 1)r. SchlangeSchoenigen, like his chief, is a staunch Christian.
