Mystery Play Revival

ANTWERP.
Mystery plays are being revived all over 'Europe. The revival of the liturgical drama is particularly strong in Belgium.
On one Sunday this month mystery plays were presented in Deynse, in East Flanders, about the life of St. Popp; Hoy, Liege, the mysteries of the Rosary; at Lokeren, East Flanders, the St. Lawrence Play; and at Bairn, Antwerp, the St. Odrada Play.
The most ambitiously staged mystery play, however, is one performed on an open stage in front of St. Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent, in connection with celebrations commemorating the 1,000th anniversary of the foundation of the city. The large square ill front of the Cathedral is packed at every performance of A gnus Da a living reproduction Of the Van Eyck brothers' famous painting in the Cathedral.
