ST, TERESA'S OWN STORY

Original text ready
THE first copy of the handwritten text of "The History of a Soul" by St. Teresa of the Child Jesus has been presented to
the Holy Father. 's It is a Photostat reproduction of
the original manuscript and is the fruit of the work of the Carmelite Fr. Francis. It throws a new and incomparable light on the Carmelite Sisters of Lisieux.
The autobiography written by St. Theresa in obedience to her Superior between 1895 and 1897, was later, in part, edited by her sister, Mother Agnes.
Fr. Francis, with the help of hand-writing experts, has succeeded in putting together the saint's original text by correcting the work with the aid of a dictionary of the most characteristic words used by the saint.
The work gives the original text itself. with all the alterations, cancellations and underlinings of St. Theresa, with her spelling mistakes and even the size of the exercise book in which she wrote.
The re-edited edition has additions which are valueless and removes the austere simplicity from the original. Nothing could equal the force and power of the original.
