and Bishops from

many parts of the world will attend the consecration of the Basilica. of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus in Lisieux on July 11.

The consecration will take place 17 years to the day after the basilica's blessing by Pope Pius XII, then Cardinal Pacelli.

The Holy Father has appointed Cardinal Grente, Archbishop-Bishop of Mans, to be Papal Legate.

On July 11 the first Solemn Mass at the basilica's high altar will be offered by the Papal Legate. The 20 side altars will be consecrated by 20 prelates from as many different countries.

The ceremonies will begin on July 7 with the transfer of relics of St. Teresa from the Carmelite Convent to 1: s altar of the basilica.

July 9 will be Family Day, with members of St. Teresa's own family, the Martins, taking part.

The basilica is one of nearly 2,000 churches throughout the world dedicated to St. Teresa.
