Cornwall hospital extends again

At St. Michael's Hospital, Hayle, Cornwall, where a maternity unit and a new theatre block have been opened during the past two years, plans are now being made to extend the accommodation of the men's balcony ward and the children's ward. The Daughters of the Cross, who run this independent hospital, have received an anonymous donation from it member of the Friends of St. Michael's Hospital, to endow a bed in the children's ward.
The Sisters also plan to introduce a time-saving appointments system to the outpatients' clinics.
Fr. Austin Delaney, OeS.B., of St. Ives, Cornwall, hon. secretary of the Friends of St. Michael's Hospital, told members at the recent anneal general meetipg that this year the Friends had raised £2.8138 by means of the annual garden fete, and £716 by a leaflet campaign.
