New church to replace hut

Bishop Parker of Northampton will lay the foundation stone of a new £14,000 church at Thrapston, Northants, on Sunday afternoon. The church, served from Wellingborough, will replace a wooden hut erected in 1949 for a Catholic population of about 200. Parishioners have already raised half the building cost. A feature of the church will be its sloping roof coming almost down to the ground. Work will be completed by October,
