LATE CARDINAL VON GALEN IS LIBELLED

The late Cardinal on Galen is libelled by the attribution to him of a pamphlet in defence of Nazism. Von Galen was one of the outstanding opponents of Nazism.
According to the Minster Diocesan Gazette (Kirchlisches Anttsblait fuer die Dinezese Munster) the text of a purported address in the Church of Santa Maria dell' Anima by the late Cardinal von Galen, when he visited Rome last February, is circulating in the British zone.
It contains a defence of Nazism under the heading " Law and Lawlessness," and the Vicar Capicular of Mtittster, writing in the Gazette, denies that von Galen ever delivered this or any similar address in Rome or anywhere else.
The text was written neither by the late Cardinal nor on his behalf, and authorship is only attributed to him to enhance the views put forward.
