Stone is laid for Bristol estate church

The foundation stone of a new church to be dedicated to St. Vincent de Paul was laid by Bishop Rudderham on Saturday at Southmead, Bristol, In the heart of one of Bristol's extensive housing estates. the church will serve a growing Catholic population which attends Sunday Mass in a classroom of the council school.
The parish is served by a priest from St. Teresa's, Filton, whose parish priest, Fr, Dennis Lucey, has raised more than half the £13,000 which, it is estimated, will be the final cost of the church.
