Stone is laid for merchant seamen's church

Bishop Rudderham laid the foundation stone cit a new church to he dedicated to St. Brendan the Navigator, at Avonmouth. Bristol on Saturday.
The church will be served from the neighbouring parish of St. Bernard. Shirehampton, and will serve the merchant seamen of all nationalities, The Bishop remarked that a very big proportion of the world's merchant seamen sue Catholics and the completion of this church would bring into being a building dedicated to the worship of God by His loyal sons from all parts of the globe.
