NEW V.G. FOR PLYMOUTH

Canon Patrick Tobin ('ANON PATRICK TOBIN,
Via, parish priest of the Sacred Heart Church, Exeter, since 1947; has been appointed Vicar General of the Plymouth Diocese in succession to the late Mgr. Provost Cyril Mahoney. Canon, now Mgr. Tobin, was born in Mallow, Co. Cork. and was educated there at the Patrician Academy and at the Carlow Colleges of Knockbeg and St. Patrick.
He was ordained in 1923 for the Plymouth diocese serving at Holy Cross, Plymouth; Stapehill and Lyme Regis in Dorset. For some years Mgr. Tobin was diocesan Inspector of Schools in Dorset and was a member of the County Education Committee.
