1,000 BOYS GO TO A RETREAT
NEARLY 1.000 boys and young men from all parts of the Salford diocese went on Sunday to St. Willibrord's, Clayton, Manchester. for a day of recollection organised by the St. Vincent de Paul Society. The Spiritual exercises were given by Fr. Peter Blake. S.J., superior of Loyola Hall. Rainhill. The attendance at these day re 'treats' has steadily risen from 100 a few years ago.
Fr. Blake. a former R.A.F. 7.haptain gave the youth serious food for thought, making plain she real purpose of living for and loving Almighty God.
He told stories of a number of modern young men. some of whom won high war decorations for gallantry who are staunch and true Catholics. living their religion to the full and setting the highest possible example on every occasion. always displaying COUrate in the service of their Divine Master.
