Saint Therese' s Sister Dies

Sister Marie of the Sacred Heart (Marie Louise Martin), the eldest sister of Sf.Ther'eso of Lisieux, died in the Carmelite Convent of Lisieux lest Friday and was buried with Carmelite simplicity in the basilica beside the tomb of the Saint. Sister Marie had been paralysed for more than ten years.
During the Requiem, celebrated by the Bishop of Bayeux, a special message from the Holy Father was read.
Sister Marie was born in 1860 and was professed in Ina. She was the " Little Flower's" Godmother, and the Saint, being the youngest novice at the time, crowned her eldest sister on her profession. Marie prepared the Saint for her first Communion and Confirmation and suggested the writing of the Autobiography.
With her death two Carmelite sisters of the " Little Flower " now survive.
One is the Prioress of the Carmel of Lisieux, Mother Agnes of Jesus (Pauline). and the other Sitter Genevieve of the Holy Face (Colina).
