ST. TERESA'S PARENTS EXHUMED

THE remains of the parents of L" St. Teresa of Lisieux have been exhumed recently as a step in the Bayeux diocesan proceedings in their beatification cause.
The remains of Louis and Azelie Marie Martin were moved from the Lisieux civic cemetery to a plot in the rear of the Basilica of St. Teresa. They will be buried again on either side of a statue of their daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin were the parents of nine children. Four of them died in infancy or early childhood, but the other five, all daughters, survived to enter religious life, four as Carmelite nuns in Lisieux, Mrs. Martin died of cancer in 1877 at the age of 46. Mr. Martin died at the age of 71 in 1894, three years before St. Teresa herself. St. Teresa was the youngest daughter. One member of the family now survives, Celine, Sister Genevieve of the Holy Face who resides in the Lisieux Carmel. She is 88.
