Fewer Catholic MPs THERE COULD be fewer Catholic members of

the House of Commons after the coming general election, even if all those still standing for election keep their seats.
Catholic Conservative MPs who are retiring include Sir Anthony Fell (Yarmouth), Sir Hugh Fraser (Stafford), Sir Timothy Kitson (Richmond, Yorkshire), and Mr Dennis Walters , (Westbury, Wiltshire). Mr Michael Brotherton (Conservative, Louth) has been dispossessed, and Mr Stanley Cohen (Labour) I,eeds South East) has not been reselected.
Of the current 37 Catholic MPs, 16 are Conservative, 14 Labour, four Social Democratic Party, one Liberal, one Independent, and one Anti-"H" Block.
