Day for Life raises thousands for hospice
ZOE'S PLACE Baby Hospice has received a much-needed fillip thanks to the generosity of Catholics in England and Wales who contributed nearly £24,000 through this year's Day for Life collection.
Victoria Partridge of Zoe's Place accepted a cheque from Auxiliary Bishop Bernard Longley of Westminster, the bishop for Day for Life, and Archbishop Peter Smith, chairman of the department for citizenship and responsi bility on June 12. Zoe's Place provides respite care to babies with multiple special needs and 24-hour one-toone care for babies with lifelimiting and life-threatening conditions. It has hospices in Liverpool and Middlesbrough and hopes to use the money raised to build a third in the Midlands.
The Linacre Centre for Healthcare Ethics will also receive support from the Day for Life collections on July 1.
