THE BENEDICTINE nuns of Tyburn Convent in London took a break from their usual devotions last Saturday to sing the words of the much loved children's song "The Teddy Bears' Picnic".
Mother Basil and Mother Aelred sang the ditty while presenting a Tyburn teddy to TV broadcaster and presenter Gyles Brandreth and his wife, who were opening the annual fayre in aid of the Tyburn shrine. The Tyburn teddy will take pride of place in the Teddy Bear Museum at Stratford-upon-Avon, co-founded by the Brandreths.
Tyburn Convent is home to the Adorers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Montmartre. They pray night and day before the Blessed Sacrament to honour the Catholic martyrs of Tyburn.
