Nuns and scribes at Tyburn

THE BENEDICTINE nuns of what I have always called the Convent of Perpetual Adoration, at Tyburn, Hyde Park Corner, London, have a superb annual publication Be Still, produced entirely by the nuns themselves, and radiating their Benedictine spirituality.
Its a good thing to have a copy on your desk to dip into from time to time, or to have a copy in your home.
In the current issue of over 60 pages, with 10 different offerings, Mother M Xavier McMonagle writes the fourth article of her series on Prayer.
It was news to me to read that there is a Tyburn Association of Adoration with volunteer lay people on a rota watch before the Blessed Sacrament in their serenely quiet and beautiful chapel.
Mother M John Baptist Brennan makes a delightful contribution on Our Lady and the Tyburn martyrs, reminding us of the story of Edmund Campion doffing his hat to a statue of Our Lady as he was dragged through the mire on the hurdle to Tyburn, and also recalling the association of many of the martyrs with the rosary.
The magazine is free and, to give them their full title, The Adorers,of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, of Montmartre, OSB, ask you to share their spirituality with them, and they welcome any contribution you care to make towards the cost of production and postage.
