Request by 26 nations ST. DOMINIC SAVIO, pupil of '-' St. John Bosco, founder of the Salesians. who died just 100 years ago at the age of 15, has been named by the Holy Father as patron saint of all choirboys.
Recalling _his personal pleasure on several occasions when choirboys have sung for him in audience the Pope said that at a recent assembly of 26 nations the presidents of the association of boys' choirs presented a joint request, asking that St. Dominic Savio be proclaimed patron saint of, choirboys.
St. Dominic Savio was canonised in 1954.
