THREE thousand letters to help guide boys in their training as lay apostles will he sent out next month by the Salesian Fathers at Dominic Sevin House, in Bollington. Cheshire.
The letters are a monthly supplement to what is known as a "Personal Spiritual Development Course" and they are studied by the 3,000 boys who have joined the Dominic Savio Guild.
In the words of FR. TERENCE O'BRIEN. Rector of the Dominic Savio Centre at Bollington: "The Guild's aim is to make boys into apostles and leaders amongst their own companions — in the playgrounds, the classrooms, the sportsfields and the parks."
The whole concept of the Guild is based on the life of St. Dominic Savio, the schoolboy saint who was canonised in 1954. and who was one of the pupils of St. John Bosco. His motto "Death rather than sin" is also that of the Guild.
Since the Guild was started eight years ago, it has built up a membership in all parts of the British Isles.
