League Investigation Into Borchgrave " Murder "
Four cases are pending before the League's Permanent Court of International Justice at the Hague. The latest of these concerns the death of Baron Jacques Borchgrave, Secretary of the Belgian Embassy in Madrid, during the Spanish civil war. The Baron, whose body was found at Fuencarral, near Madrid, some days after he had disappeared from the Belgian Embassy. was, it is generally held, murdered. The Spanish Government denies any liability for his death, whilst the Belgian Government is claiming reparations and apologies.
