THE Holy Father has ap
pointed an Irish Do gears, 63 year-old Fr. Michael Brown to he Master of the Sacred Apostolic Palace — the Pope's personal theologian.
Fr. Browne, a Master of Sacred Theology, Domes from Carrick-onSuir. He became a Dominican in 1904 and was Rector of the Pontifical University of the Angelicum. from 1933 to 1941.
His brother, Fr. Patrick Browne, is Rector of University College, Galway.

The Master of the Sacred Apostolic Palace is one of the principal members of the Papal Household aod resides in the Vatican.
Fr. Brown succeeds the lane Fr. Mariano Cordovani.
His Holiness has chosen another non-Italian to succeed the late Bishop de Romanis as Papal Sacristan and Vicar General of Vatican City. He is Fr. Canisius Van Vierde, who was born in Belgium of Dutch parents.
Mgr. Diego Venini. Secretary of Embassy, has been appointed Private Almoner to the Holy Father and named titular Anchhishop of Adana in place of the late Archbishop Nigone.
Mgr. Venini, who thus becomes one of the principal prelates in the Papal Household, wont to the Vatican nearly 29 years ago as an attendant on Cardinal Rapt in the Conclave at which he was elected Pope Pius XI.
