New French Ambassador To Holy See

By M. MASSIAN1.
PARIS.
While no official information is available as yet, the name of Charles Flory, member of the French Council, has been frequently mentioned for the post of French Ambassador to the Vatican, to succeed Jacques Maritain. M. Flory was at one time President of the Catholic Youth movement. He has been a director of Catholic social action and was for some years president of the Semaines Sociales. This year he was appointed by M.R.P. a member of the Council of the Republic, which replaced the Senate.
He now is in Rome where he will give the Pope details of the next meeting of the Semaine Sociale, which meets in Lyon at the end of July to take up colonial problems from the standpoint of Christian principles. After the liberation of France, M. Flory went to Rome as the official representative of General de Gaulle to handle diplomatic questions between the Vatican and the Provisional Government of France.
