CHAIR OF UNITY OCTAVE

SIR, -The Chair of Unity Octave has been observed in various parts of England, Scotland and Wales for the last ten years. It met with the cordial approval of authority and a warm welcome from those Catholics who recognise that prayer is the essential factor in obtaining the reconcilia
tion of our separated brethren. Its progress, however, was slow : there was need of a permanent centre where information could be obtained and whence the devotions could be organised.
I am happy to say that the Servants of Christ the King, Mount Olivet, Frenslaam, Farnham, Surrey, have undertaken to organise the C.U.O. These devoted religious brothers ascribe their reconciliation as a community to the prayers of the Octave. Their quarterly periodical, Christas Rex (subscription Is. annually, post free) will be the official publication for the C.U.O.
May 1 take this opportunity to thank the Catholic Press for their generosity to the work and the many in England, Scotland and Wales who have supported its public observance since 1926? The aim of the C.U.O. is to unite the whole Catholic world, under the leadership of the Holy Father, in prayer for those not in communion with the Holy See. The Octave begins on January 18 and ends or January 25.
W. o'Atereerre S.J. St. Aloysius, Glasgow.
