25 pilgrims walking to Walsingham

IN sunshine and rain 25 Guild of Int Ransom pilgrims led by the Master, Mgr. Laurance Goulder, have this week been walking along the country roads of Hertfordshire. Suffolk and Norfolk on their Novena pilgrimage to Walsingham.
After attending Mass celebrated by Cardinal Griffin at the Church of St. Anselm and St. Cecilia, in Kingsway, on Saturday morning. the men, including some of last year's pilgrims, set off on their 120-mile walk.
They are carrying more than 5,100 petitions from members of the guild.
The Novena is being offered for world peace, for the Queen, in thanksgiving for favours received through last year's Novena. apd for the private intentions of those who have sent petitions.
After spending their nights in haylofts, stables, or any other accommodation available, the men have been hearing Mass at a different town or village each morning.
They are due in Walsingham on Sunday.
