Preface of Trinity. ) Gospel this Sunday describes s(GrliE teheeri wedding feast of Cana, which is closely associated with the Feast of the Epiphany, being the third of Our Lord's "manifestations"—the first to the world in the persons of the Magi; the second of Christ's divinity in the baptism in Jordan; and now the third of His power in the first miracle at Cana. The role of Our Lady in this miracle is a subject to meditate upon with special care in this present year. The Epistle gives one of St. Paul's most practical guides to the true practice of Christian perfection. The collect is a .beautiful little prayer for peace worth reciting on many an occasion.

THIS feast commemorates St.
1 Peter's taking up of his episcopal office in Rome. In recent years it has been observed as the first day of the Church Unity Octave, which ends with 'he Feast of St. Paul's conversion, The choosing of this particular feast on which to start the octave is in itself a sign that the purpose of the octave is to reconcile all Christians and others under the authority of the Vicars of Christ who until this day have suc
ceeded to St. Peter's role and authority.
