Distorted decrees

I AGREE with Peter Bolwell, April 29, concerning Archbishop Lefebvre and the Vatican Council. If the very words "Vatican Council" are hateful to the ears of many Catholics, it is because the decrees of that Council have been distorted. misinterpreted or even simply ignored by those who could and should have known better.
By coincidence your issue also contains an article on the London Oratory. I am sure that the Oratory Fathers yield to no-one in their loyalty to the Pope and the decrees of the Vatican Council. Yet, Sunday by Sunday in the London Oratory church. a full High Mass is still celebrated which is a model of dignity. beauty and liturgical correctness, fully in accord with the spiriteof the Council.
If only the decrees of the Vatican Council had been properly studied and properly implemented, there would not be nearly so many upset and discontented people in the Church today — and there probably wouldn't he an Archbishop Lefebvre either.
