Impressive activity by Bolton's workers

THE Bolton Catholic Workers' Group. which celebrates its silver jubilee this month, has produced a record of its impressive range of activities over the past 25 years.
The Group has the advantage of possessing its own premises, in Moor Lane, Bolton, where it runs a Catholic Repository. These premises have, in the course of the Group's history. been used by no less than 15 Catholic organizations, including the Young Christian Workers. the St. Christopher's Cycling Club, and the local Austrians' Society.
The first activities of the Group, back in 1938. consisted of churchporch and door-to-door sales of papers and pamphlets, and running a library. The repository was originally begun in response to insistent demands from the public. It has been open daily since 1959. In the post-war years, door-todoor sales of Catholic literature declined, but Church porch sales soared to an average of 1.500. At the present time, the Group supplies the papers sold at eight Bolton churches. and for two other parishes five miles from Bolton:
On top of this, the Group organizes a monthly lecture. liturgy classes, and concerts, and provides material help for sick members. The address. for any interested Catholics in the North West, is : Catholic Repository, 101 Moor Lane, Bolton. Lanes.
