IRELAND'S PUBLIC ROSARIES

'RECENTLY your . Dublin Diary writer, Mr. Gabriel Fallon. referred to the Weekly Public Rosaries that are taking root here in Dublin and in other parts of Ireland, He doubted if they were the answer to the double-think which he thinks prevails among us Catholic Irish. Mr. Fallon can have his doubts. Personally I do not think that the doublethink is as prevalent as he and Mr. Con Murphy would have your readers assume, with no proof whatever.
I happen to be one of the peoplewho started this Weekly Public Rosary Movement. Our aim is very simple — to restore Rosary-reciting to its traditional place in Irish hearts and homes. The idea is to have Is Public Rosary-recital every week as an open-air shrine in every parish and townland in Ireland.
This draws public attention to the Rosary, and gives those who favour it a chance to exhibit their regard for it. We hope that Our Lady, too, will he impressed and shower her blessings on our people, and on people everywhere.
That's all we are trying to do. We accept that whatever consequences will follow will he for Our Lady to determine. She will restore Rosaryreciting, according as we deserve that privilege. And from that restoring will flow all the benefits which have always flown from loyalty to that form of daily prayer and meditation.
(Mrs.) Marie DunIcavy MeSharry
