CICOGNANI RESIGNS

CARDINAL VI L L O T, Prefect of the Sacred Congregation of the Clergy, is to succeed Cardinal Cicognani, 86. who has resigned as the Vatican Secretary of State. the Pope announced last week.
Cardinal Villot, who is 63, will be succeeded as, head of the Clergy Congregation by Cardinal John Wright, 59. former Bishop of Pittsburgh, who was among the 33 new cardinals recently created by the Pope.
. THEOLOGY GROWS Meanwhile, the names have been announced of the 30 members appointed to the new Theological Commission established by Pope Paul. They will serve for five years.
There is only one bishop among the 30 and no professors resident at any of the theological universities and institutions in Rome itself. The post of president has yet to be filled. The members are: Bishop Colombo and Fr. C. Vagaggini of Italy; Fr. Louis Bouyer. Oral., Fr. Yves Congar. 0.P.. Fr. A. Feuillet. Sulp, Fr. Marie-Joseph Le Guillou and Fr.
