THE Pope will make his own
personal Holy Year visit to the Basilica of St. Peter's on December 26 at the head of the entire clergy of Rome, it has been learned from Vatican circles. The clergy will include the members of the papal anrecamera, all the prelates residing in Rome and the clergy attached to ecclesiastical colleges. The laity will not be admitted to the ceremony,
• • II frHE Sacred Congregation for the 'A Propagation of the Faith last week repeated its earlier statements that pilgrims would find costs in Israel twice as high as in Arab territory and would also be subject to strict currency control. The Congregation warned that pilgrims landing in Israel will he allowed to cross into the Arah zone, but the Arabs will not admit pilgrims whose passports have an Israeli visa. Pilgrims may travel freely in the Arab zones, however. if they have not first visited Israel. "Those wishing to visit the Arab zone, where most of the Holy Places are to be found," said the statement, "should not have an Israeli visa on their Passports and should enter Arab Palestine without crossing Israeli territory.

IA NEW pavilion is to be opened in
St. Peter's Square to serve as an extra post office for the Holy Year. It will sell ordinary and special stamps commemorating the Holy Year and will also handle letters directed to the Vatican State.
pROVisIONAL arrangements have now been announced for the Salford Diocesan Holy Year pilgrimage to Rome. Friday, October 27, has been fixed as the provisional departure date, and the pilgrimage, which, it is estimated, will cost forty guineas, will reach Rome on October 29, leaving the city on Saturday morning, November 4.
• • • MGR. O'Grady, secretary of the
National Conference of Catholic Charities in the United States, has been named a member of the Permanent Executive Committee for the Holy Year Exhibition on Charity, according to the current Holy Year Bulletin published in Vatican City.
In addition to making plans for the exhibit. this committee has decided to arrange a cycle of international studies on charity which will culminate in an international meeting in September of the Holy Year,
