"Spare the time to listen to your children, so that they can bring their troubles to you," was one "golden rule" given on Friday by Dr. F. B. Elkisch to members of the ParentTeacher Association of St. Thomas More's School, Tottenham, London.
Dr. Elkisch, a Catholic psychiatrist, stressed the importance of a real love and a sound common sense in the difficult task of bringing up children.
Questions asked afterwards were concerned with shyness and lack of confidence in teenage children. For this type of child, said Dr. Elkisch. the security and encouragement of sympathetic parents and teachers is essential.
