Cathedral For Poland

The largest church in Poland will be consecrated in October in Katowice. capital of Upper Silesia and centre of the coalmining district. Although the town was renamed Stalinograd in 1953 and miners are represented as zealous followers of the Communist regime. these are the people who have collected for years to build this Cathedral of Christ the King.
The cathedral was begun in 1927 shortly after the foundation of the diocese of Katowice. It wilt have altars dedicated to Silesian saints. St. Hyacinth and St, Hedvig.
