Priests urged to join Irish C.T.S.
SPEAKING at the first
annual meeting of the Catholic Truth Society of Ireland council since the new Communications Centre was opened in April, Archbishop Walsh of Tuam said the cost of the centre's upkeep could be put at about £12,000 a year. The chief source of income was members subscriptions. "In other words, we need at least 12,000 members who will subscribe £1 a year. . . .
"I feel bound to say that among the priesthood of Ireland we have a large number who do not show a sufficient interest in the C.T.S., and as a result the society suffers. Every priest ought to be a member, and by his example get many of his parishioners to join."
